Cary Guffey (born May 10, 1972) is a former American child actor. He is best remembered for his debut in the role of Barry Guiler in the film Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977).
Born in Douglasville, Georgia, Guffey made his film debut in the 1977 film Close Encounters of the Third Kind at the age of three. In 1979, he appeared in the movie The Sheriff and the Satellite Kid and its sequel Everything Happens to Me, with Bud Spencer. Guffey made his last onscreen appearance in the 1985 miniseries North and South.
